🍧Additional info on the Bored Ape Yacht Club

  • April 2021: Bored Ape Yacht Club came out with a mint price of 0.08 ETH or at the time, $192. The collection’s floor price, the cheapest NFT in the collection as set by the selling price, was even lower. The least expensive BAYC NFT traded for about 0.03 ETH, or about $70.

  • Just nine months later, the BAYC floor price is 100 ETH, or about $290,000. That’s an increase of about 145,000%. What’s mindblowing about it is that this only talks about the floor price NFTs – rare ones sold for millions and had an even larger ROI. If that wasn’t enough, there was also added value by getting the MAYC airdrop and minting a Kennel.

  • Mutant Apes are created by giving one out of three possible serum variations to a Bored Ape, and initially, users were airdropped the serum. The resulting separate NFT that’s now part of the Mutant Ape Yacht Club collection that has a floor of 22 ETH, worth roughly around $64K. Again, we’re looking at the floor price, so this price is the lowest in the collection.

  • Let’s also have a look at the Bored Ape Kennel Club. The collection currently has a floor price of around 8 ETH, worth about $23K. This collection wasn’t airdropped, but BAYC owners could claim their companions by paying for gas fees needed for the mint.

  • So, with all of the above in mind, holding a single Bored Ape NFT and going through the MAYC and BAKC iterations would have given the owner roughly $377,000 in value so far.
